Avenged Sevenfold were chosen at #10 by Top 25 Greatest Orange County Bands Of All Time

OC Weekly have published their list of the “Top 25 Greatest Orange County Bands Of All Time” and Avenged Sevenfold were chosen at #10.

10. Avenged Sevenfold
This Huntington Beach four-piece occupy a weird space in the annals of OC metal, or metalcore, whatever you want to call it. Despite being rejected by the majority of old-school metal fans (i.e. anyone with a sleeveless denim jacket, a Napalm Death concert stub and tattoos older than you), Avenged Sevenfold have one of the most rabid young fan bases in the game. Coming up alongside the brutal shredding of colleagues like Eighteen Visions and Atreyu, the band dubbed A7X were one of the first bands to really embrace a more glammed-out ’80s resurgence of noodling guitar riffs, guy-liner, and a ghoulish identity that had a touch more humor than the blood-splattering, gut ripping aesthetic perfected by metal bands of old. You could say they’ve become the official bro band of their home city, but then again a lot of those lifted truck jockeys don’t appreciate just how musically proficient these guys are. Despite the untimely death of drummer James “The Rev” Sullivan, vocalist Matthew “M.Shadows” Sanders and company have persevered. To date, they’ve sold more than 4 million albums worldwide. What can we say, obviously someone’s diggin’ it.

Justin Storm: Apakah kalian dalam proses pembuatan album baru?
Jawaban : Saat ini baru saja beristirahat. Kami memberi setiap hal yang ada di album Nightmare dalam 2 tahun tur yang diikuti. Kami ingin siap dan fokus ketika tiba saatnya untuk memberikan fans kami bagian berikutnya.
Ollie Jeanes: Apa hobi Anda jika tidak melakukan tur?
Jawaban : Aku mengumpulkan banyak hal mengerikan. Aku suka bermain musik dengan cara terlalu keras. Saya suka mengemudi di sekitar dengan (mobil) Continental tahun 1962 saya. Saya juga suka bermain dengan anjing dan tikus saya. Saya selalu tetap fokus pada A7X meskipun karena dunia yang besar dan fans kami tidak beristirahat. Saya suka permasalahn Vengeance University dan merasa selalu muda.
Adnan Alihodzic: Apa momen yang paling canggung bagi kalian dalam hidup?
Jawaban : Orang terlalu banyak untuk dihitung. Hukum Murphys adalah hal yang nyata. Apa pun yang bisa salah akan salah. Ini semua tentang bersenang-senang di atas sana. Kami digunakan untuk menyalahkan diri sendiri atas kesulitan sedikit teknis, sekarang kita yang sedikit lebih tua dan lebih mapan dan kami bisa menertawakannya. Selama fans kami memiliki waktu yang baik maka kita juga ada.
Christie Murdoch: Apa momen yang paling lucu (dan) berkesan untukmu?
Jawaban : Waktu Aku menyalakan badut terbakar …
Steve Holtz: Siapa pemain gitar modern favorit  Anda?
Jawaban : Synyster Gates karena saya menyukainya dan dia lucu dan mitra minum besar. Bagi saya menjadi baik pada instrumen tidak mengesankan seperti yang mengagumkan dalam hidup.
